My first song post. An existential (yet musically simple) electronic/acoustic pop, sorta trip-hoppy, song.

I thought I was going to be disappointed when the song turned a corner melodically at 2:18, but what your voice does in that section right afterward turned out to be my favourite part. May your first song here not be your last.

Thanks for the great feedback!
chococat: I will be sure to check out miss lynnster -- I've seen her name frequently on the blue, but didn't realize she was a musician, too.
roombythelake: Now that I've overcome the initial terror I had of posting a song here, I think it's likely I will do it again:)

I like this a lot. You have a great voice, and the production unfolds nicely. If you haven't heard kimyo's stuff yet, it's great and definitely occupies the same orbit as this song.

Fantastic debut. I can't believe with that voice you were terrified of posting here. Did you do the song all by yourself or is it a collaboration with other people?

Thanks so much, umbú and micayetoca!
Umbú: I'll be sure to check out kimyo's stuff — thanks for the tip.
Micayetoca: Yep, I did everything myself.

Welcome to MuFi! Very impressive song. I had the same reaction as roombythelake, actually. It was really neat to be surprised like that.
And yay Vermont!

Well, double congratulations in that case. And did I mention you have a very nice voice?

This is pretty great. I like those retro keys.
Nice structure, too, with a nice build to the chorus and then to the surprise right turn.

You have a beautiful and haunting voice - and I mean haunting in a good way. I am excited to have you posting and I do hope you regale us with more.

I dig this; it grooves pretty nicely. It might just be my cheap office-headphones, though, but I would have liked a slightly warmer mix. But yeah, the e-piano, or whatever it is, is really cool. Nice track.

Man, this is all kinds of great. The first time I heard the stops in the chorus it put a big damn smile on my face. Welcome to Music, and for god's sake please keep posting.

I listened to your song again in the podcast. Listening to it in the middle of something else (rather than playing by itself here) it sounded really well and I made me come back here to tell you that it is a really good song. I know I had already said it, but there's no reason for not saying it again. Great song, and as cortex said: for god's sake, please keep posting.

And with my curiosity piqued, unabashedly stalking through your posting history I see that you like Frightened Rabbit! Icing on the cake, indeed.

Thanks, everyone! I'm going to try and post music regularly; this a great (and inspiring) community, what with the genuine, constructive feedback, general helpful atmosphere, and incredible variety of music. I was relieved to find that the snark is safely contained on the blue. :)
And GNFTI: I keep wishing Frightened Rabbit would decide to make a stop in Vermont, but alas, it looks like they are becoming too big.

Oh by the way, I take it you're familiar with the work of Lamb (and Lou Rhodes) and Hooverphonic? If not, you might want to check them out.

I have had this song in my head since hearing it in the music podcast, and it's been in heavy rotation on my iPod. Really like the timbre of your voice, and the middle changeup is lovely. Thanks for posting this, and please keep putting up songs!

I just checked out your music page. To steal from Emerson:
I greet you at the beginning of a great career, which yet must have had a long foreground somewhere, for such a start.

If I may say, you have a somewhat similar quality in your voice to miss lynnster, you may want to check her out.
And...first comment on your first song!
