Can cover, E7 and A7. Response to two challenges.
Long, long ago, I was challenged to record a version of
"Moonshake". The idea kind of simmered in my head for a long time, until the two chord challenge thing came up.
So here's the funny part. The lyrics available in most places for this song (like
here) are just obviously, laughably wrong. I decided I'd decode them myself, and I used
this youtube video as my source.
Partway through the "transcription", I decided this Japanese German singer probably wasn't using English, but I went ahead and made some lyrics, Mondegreen-style. The results are below.
Incidentally anyone willing to part with a used copy of Julian Cope's
Krautrocksampler is encouraged to MefiMail me.
MOONSHAKE
my ignorance will straighten you out
you just dont want it in the state of your mind
youre coming down with my state of mind
youre coming on to the state i'm in
but its
de l'amour
woah woah
memory's criminal
the heat of dawn
in the state of your eyes
your jealous storm
in the state of your eyes
youre in love
and we start all the time
i kissed love
in the state of your mind
you are my
bella noir
woah woah
memory's criminal
* * *
it cant be proven from the state of your mind
you're coming down with the state i'm in
where can you go when its not alright
you're just don't want to
stay in your mind
you are my
bella noir
woah woah
and you feel my love
lemme be no more
lemme feel no more
forever be no more
forever feel no more
