Road Organ

Found an old organ.

Someone was throwing it out and I saw it at the side of the road when I was enduring the pain of my Couch-to-5k the other day (just finished week 6!)
It's this cigarette-burned old Yamaha and I managed to lift it into our front door by myself where it sat for 2 days (while our house started to smell like some kind of bar from 1962 or a fucking Legion Hall or something) until my wife could help me drag it down to the basement.
Anyhow, I'm hiding, playing this organ song and drinking beer in the basement because there's several 9-year-olds upstairs for a sleepover and they're playing Dance Dance Revolution.

Deeply groovy. Mondo lounge/cheese-teeny-surf-party meets Booker T while some guy in the corner does the heroin nod. Love those vintage canned beats from organs like this, you just can't beat 'em.

Geez, what a find. I always check thrift/junk stores for organs, but I haven't gotten lucky yet. I hope you use this in your new tunes. I thought it sounded great. I like how this song really does sound like you hanging out in your basement playing around. Double tracked vocals are the way to my heart.

Thanks. Ya, that masking tape is hilarious. Someone spent a lot of time doing that. I probably won't bother trying to get it off, I think the years of nicotine-air have fused it to the keys. I also love the cigarette burn.
I have no idea what was up with the Rosie Perez-type accent I was affecting. Oawgan.

I see them all the time for free on Craigslist, Corduroy, you should take a look. But it always requires picking them up and I'm usually too lazy unless it's a fucking Wurlitzer or something. But this one was right there by the curb as I was running, so I came back to get it.

I know the point is not at all the vocals but I think the vocals are like the best part. I really like the tone.

You found it, carried it, smelled and played it. AWESOME! The sound is pretty amazing and your voice is well planted in that funky/groovy? mix. Kick ass.
