Last Orders (aka Tom Waits For No Man)

May 27, 2009 1:21 PM

Another one from an acoustic-based set recorded some time ago now. A giant cliche in a way, I suppose - but it has a kind of addled charm...

The Tom Waits gag is not so much that it sounds like him, but that I wanted to call it "Closing Time" until I found out that Mr W had got there first. Not that it matters much... For non-Brits, "Last Orders" is what is called out by pub landlords when they're about to close the place for the night.

A nice jazzy, bluesey little piece: sad that nobody has shown it love before now...
