Make the Trap Say Summertime

July 28, 2009 9:28 AM

A spaced out dub remix of OJ Da Juiceman. Features some cocaine rap so it is not for fragile ears.

Ay, Ay, Ay.

A remix of the song I posted yesterday.

Having never previously heard of OJ da Juiceman (hey, what do you want? I'm getting old), I had no idea what to expect. I hate cocaine for how it makes people act (Dj Shadow going "hyphy" broke my heart), but your beat is nice as always.

Between the two of us, this makes 3 music posts with the "dub" tag this week, and no comments. I dunno, maybe Mefites aren't so into the hiphop/dub hybrid? I dunno. I like it.

Thanks man. Yeah, I've always had my suspicions that this is a tough audience for rhythmic electronic music, but whatever, I make them for myself.

Additionally, I do not do nor endorse cocaine. It is just a prevalent topic in the rap that I like these days.

Loooooove this man. So good. I think the vocal track needs to be more forward in the mix but other than that it's hype. Would it be possible to MeMail me a version of this with the vocals a little louder? I'd love to spin this into a mix.

Also, where'd you get the acapella?

I got the acapella from Jamglue.com, it's got a pretty extensive collection of questionably legal acapellas and instrumentals.

Another good site is acapellas4u.co.uk.

Incidentally, I will be uploading a track once my 24 hours are up that I made yesterday that remixes the G-Spot Boyz for some contest that Jamglue is running.

The contest is complete bullshit, but I did the remix just because I could.
