And the whole thing is incredibly sloppy and you can really, really tell I didn't use a click track.

Man, I didn't mean to suggest that it was without merit or anything. I just find this a compelling venue in which to complain about the things that are wrong with it. I am pleased as punch that y'all find it entertaining.
I have been doing some more laid-back, plaintive banjo stuff lately, as parts of larger compositions. Some of that might show up eventually.

It was some time around the line "I have felt shovels / standing up for you" came along that I began to realize I wasn't yet fully conversant in the traditional vocabulary of bluegrass lyrics. Oh well.
