Spiraling

Acoustic cover of Keane's Spiraling.
First heard the original on the radio last year and was pretty quickly taken with it, but I wasn't sure if it was just a fascination with the dead-on 80s production values and spectacular arrangement, or if the song stood on its own. So I decided to try to strip it down. Production is equally minimal... a little bit of room reverb and EQing on a take done into a Zoom H2 in a Red Roof Inn.

Never heard the song before, but it's a fun track, and your translation of the arrangement is delicate and pretty. The original is so overproduced (not in a bad way, it's got the right 80's kind of vibe), that the cover really unveils something. Very nicely done.
