May Challenge

OH MY GOD, WE ARE HAVING A FIRE! sale.

MAYDAY! MAYDAY! or, alternately, May Day.

the challenge for the fifth month of this year is to write a song using the phrase "may day". Celebrate the labor movement(s), fires/floods/emergencies, Cinco de Mayo, or the birthdays of Georges Will and Lucas*, Darius Rucker, Lance Bass, Traci Lords, Don Rickles, Billy Joel, Louis Farrakhan, Jason Biggs or Tony Hawk. Or anything else May-related!

*"may day the force be with you"? . you're better than that.

Oh man, singing a protest song about Darius Rucker in the style of Darius Rucker is kind of tempting.

Doesn't actually use the words "May Day," though it's about said day...in case anyone missed the tweet yesterday...

I keep threatening to do a version of this song every year--were it not for The Wasteland, I might not have COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN WHAT DAY IT WAS.

Maybe a song about the induction of a Canadian mafioso. Call it "Made, Eh?"

Cooker? A song about Tricity Bendix then? Mayday, my chip pan is on fire on my new tricity bendix.

I keep singing this to the tune of "Day By Day" from Godspell.

Rhyming words like "may" and "day" is what Billy Joel excelled at, so this seems entirely appropriate. actually Glass Houses was the first album I ever bought with my own money

Perhaps a french* version of "Help!"

"M'Aider! J'ai besoin de quelqu'un, m'aider! Pas n'importe qui, m'aider! Vous savez j'ai besoin de quelqu'un, m'aider!"

*I've forgotten all my french so I had to rely on google for this one...
