Death by Waterphone (Interlude)

May 2, 2012 5:27 PM

Next on order from The Wasteland comes something completely different--no effects, no text, no processing, apart from a tiny bit of compression, and track normalisation. It's one instrument, center channel. Nothing but one man, one mic, and a room. That in mind, headphones could not be more highly recommended.

I simply cannot exaggerate just how much I love this instrument, and this track. It kind of gives me a heart boner.

INSTRUMENTATION:
Kerry Folsom - Waterphone

Timbill Corder (me) - Engineer, Producer...-ish

I just realised, perhaps I should offer some info about what this magnificent beast is, which creates this noise: Waterphone.

(I have listened to these a bit out of sequence so...)

Again you have the arrangement of the overall composition just right, with the changes in tonal and dynamic qualities bringing alternating shivers and serenity, fear and tranquility.
