Base Three Chakra the Deadly Head

May 5, 2012 11:07 AM

A somewhat atonal, arhythmic meditation on something, we know not what. Carbon 7 in an ongoing experiment in collaborative improvisation.

More jazz that psychedelic on this one -- I think I've been listening to Mile's Live at the Fillmore a little too much. Ron plays the Prophet 5 & an Ensoniq something or other. Dennis percusses and I play the '77 Fender Precision fretless.

Absolutely nothing was discussed -- even the key. We plugged in, turned stuff on, and this is what came out the other side. It gets going proper at about the halfway mark when Dennis decides to play an actual beat. I fade out the mix before the bad stuff happens.

Happy dancing, dinner guests!

Strange but enjoyable. Love the bass sound... *covets*

That bass was a pawnshop score. Someone had stripped the finish off it & sanded it down, but never repainted it. Got it for $300 in '92 when I was on honeymoon in Atlanta, then had it repainted sea foam green when I got home. I already own it and I still covet it.

It was cool to hear the song come together out of nothing. Those are sometimes the best jams. You've got a big sound here that I like.
