Hold On To Love (simplified version)

I decided to rearrange this song that I posted before to take out some of the crazy modulation and make it more straightforward. What do you think?

This is just a one-take acoustic version to think about the arrangement. I kept one modulation in the final chorus, but I'm thinking about putting it in the second chorus, like it is in the earlier demo, but dropping the second modulation.

Great stuff. I went and listened to the original and would like to hear this with some harmonies in there similar to the original harmonies.

Yeah -- thanks! I'm still slightly up in the air about what the overall feel should be. I did that original one as a sort of pop overload thing but we tried doing a really stripped down version of it last night and it felt great with everthing a bit more thinned out. So I think a more acoustic version with harmonies is a good way to go with it.

I think i might prefer this version, with a few more embellishments. Harmonies, maybe some percussion...

nice one!

Yeah, this isn't really meant to be anything more than me trying out the new structure. I think what it should probably do is build. It starts out kind of bleak but it get gradually more hopeful and then there's the modulation to really cheer you up at the end or something. There's a nice piano part which didn't get mixed high enough in the first version, which really kicks it off when it comes in.
