Hi Rami Hi

[SPOILER FOR SLEEPY PETE] Half of a blind collaboration with sleepy pete.

sleepy pete proposed that we agree on some parameters (e.g. key, tempo, time sig), and we'd each write a track within the specified range. Then, he'd creatively overlay the two. This is my part, which I wrote in August, sent to him, and promptly forgot about.

When I was reminded of this project, I realized sp hadn't gotten back to me yet! (sleepy pete's been busy with his own projects, too.) I nudged him, and he said he'll be getting to it soon. I went back to listen to what I'd done, and I liked it. I asked sp if I could post it, and he said "sure thing, king" or something to that effect, so here it is!

Samples used:
• Ringo Starr's kick from the drum solo at the end of Abbey Road
• A John Bonham Snare
• Two clips from part 1 of the Moonlight Sonata
• Cicadas from a BBC collection of sound effects, processed through some sort of phaser in Audacity
• Handclaps from a BBC collection of sound effects.
• The organ from that part in Yes's "Yours is No Mistake" where it's just organ, right before they sing "Yesterday a morning came..."

The file was named "HIRAM" in my directory, so I renamed it "Hi Rami Hi," cause I was listening to Ghost's "Lama Rabi Rabi" just then.

...also forgot to add: the bell ringing at the beginning of John Lennon's "Just Like Starting Over".

Now I'm going to be tempted to add handclaps the next time I see a performance of Moonlight Sonata!

That was my intention.

Ha! Great rhythm track. The way that piano phrase from Moonlight Sonata is unresolved causes me great anxiety.
I would have given bonus points for adding the funereal bell from Lennon's "Mother" (which, apparently, the Starting Over bell is supposed to echo.)
