Babies In A Blender

July 16, 2014 12:20 PM

Posting something my late husband recorded when he was 17 in his memory.

My husband took his own life on July 14, 2014. He was a brilliant man and will be greatly missed.
This is something he recorded with a Cat SRM and some sort of echo delay. I think he had a Polymoog at the time but I don't really remember. He was very much into Prog rock at the time, and if you're familiar with The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, you'll see the influence. :)

Thanks. Many thanks to Our Beloved Mods for allowing me to post this. :)

Mr. Luckynerd wanted to be a keyboard player/synthesist in the late 70's/early 80's. Spent a week in '83 rehearsing with Nina Hagen for a tour only to have management change personnel at the last moment. He also had a talent for fixing synths as well as programming the Apple IIe. Both interests scored him a job as a service tech at Roland US/Roland DG from '84-'88 by showing up at a trade show in Vegas with a custom slide show on a floppy. He spent the next quarter century doing freelance work doing stuff like repairs (synths mostly--The Minimoog Model D was his specialty, but he worked on all sorts of stuff), studio wiring, hum elimination, and Mac service. He was great at what he did, and his colleagues honored his contribution to analog synths by paying for his cremation costs for me. :-)
