Cotton Pod Walk Around

Yet another Frank B Converse piece from 1865, trying to get the hang of playing a banjo and foot tambo at the same time. Audio straight from the iPhone.

Is this the same fretless as the other tune? Good intonation! And it sounds like you're getting more in the pocket with the tambo, which in my experience is always the biggest hurdle with doing two things at once.

Thanks! This one was played on this banjo and New York March was on this banjo, which has a more modern laminate pot that I think accounts for its brighter/sharper tone.

This was the first time I've recorded with tambourine going at the same time as the banjo - it's a nifty Meinl foot tambourine, so if you can tap your foot more or less in time you're in good shape. Previous things I've posted were multi-tracked with a regular 10" round drum-style tambourine, which I always feel like I could be playing more interestingly/expressively if I knew what I was doing... but they're so loud!
