Coventry Carol - strings

This medieval English carol is certainly not cheerily optimistic-sounding, but might not quite qualify as pessimistic. "Somber" is better - a mood rarely evoked for Christmas.

"Lullay, Thou little tiny child", is about as happy as this excerpt from a nativity play gets. Nothing like King Herod's decree to brighten things up!

Does this sounds like it needs some harp arpeggios? A certain someone was going to help me out with that, and my DAW is determined to get on the naughty list, so I couldn't do it myself. Unless some charitable angel wants to add the track and repost, no harp for you this Christmas, Cratchit!

I think it's perfect the way it is. Arpeggios, certainly if they are pizzicato, will add an element outside of the lush arrangement. Could work, but could also detract from the theme.
