there’s a fellow from up in Vermont
he wants to be the US president
speaking so much truth you can hardly believe
that this is a man who works in government
he’s telling it plain and simple
how we got to end this corporate rule
and if you stand against what this man’s saying
you’re either super rich or you’re a fool
he’s a fighter don’t you know
not your average politico
he ain’t happy with the status quo
go Bernie go - go Bernie go

he wants universal health care
and more funding for the people’s education
wants to end military adventurism
and focus on fixing the nation
a fair shake for the working man and woman
and start taxing the rich like we should
stop selling our government to the highest bidder
and start working for the common good
he ain’t no tool of no CEO
no errand boy for Monsanto
no Wall Street banker’s friend
he’s their foe
go Bernie go - go Bernie go

the only man or woman on the campaign trail
to talk plain about racial injustice
disproportionate numbers of blacks in prison
and how we’re way overdue to discuss this
he says when anyone dies in police custody
it must be thoroughly investigated
his positions on these crucial issues
have been clearly and repeatedly stated
he knows that progress has been too slow
in the fight against the new Jim Crow
is he afraid of the racists? oh hell no!
go Bernie go - go Bernie go

now one last thing i’d like to impart
don’t you believe it when they say he’s unelectable
i’d say the source of that particular idea
is very very easily detectable
it’s the Wall Street banks
hey, Goldman Sachs CEO
calls Bernie a “danger”
coming from someone like that
that’s a powerful endorsement
Bernie’s gonna be a game changer
there’s a new kinda wind that’s about to blow
a new kinda seed that’s got to sprout and grow
he’s a breath of fresh air and we need him you know
go Bernie go - go Bernie go

But, yeah... hell... gotta say, Mefi Music is: where music comes to DIE. No likes for this, no adds to playlists... all of ONE comment. This place is dead. And that's coming from someone who used to be VERY engaged here. Listened to people's stuff, made plenty of comments... ran the Challenges for, what, a couple of years? But this subsite is really a ghost town now, isn't it? Officially done with it now.

Well, anyway, y'all vote for Bernie! Big love from Tokyo!

I hear you flapjax. It's a bit of a graveyard of late for sure.
It's a drag because people are still posting awesome stuff; I just came by tonight to listen to some music (which I don't do enough, to be honest) and found some really great things. Don't know what the answer is.
Anyhow, great song! I'd vote for Bernie if I was American. Luckily we just ousted our Conservative asshole leader here in Canada pretty recently so things are looking slightly more positive.

Part of the participation issue is that there are now more and more ways to listen to the music here without participating in the threads. I know that has cut down on my favorites and comments as I'm just listening to the tracks on my phone.
