Penultimate track from Creature Of Habit in which we find our protagonist brooding over the realization of the previous track, and facing down the Creature.
Whether the two voices represent a struggle with an outer or inner demon is up to the listener. At the end, we hear the Creature sulking away, soundly defeated if not vanquished. I employed the seldom-heard and highly dissonant flatted ninth interval in the main motif of this piece to convey tension and conflict. SFX via freesound.org.
