March Music Challenge: Tell Us a Story

A short one-month challenge, so feel free to post something old, new, borrowed and/or blue - so long as there's a story behind it

Post your track and tell us the story behind it! We've had tons of good ones in the past, this challenge should dig up some more of them.

Did you write or record something as a gift ? Cover a song with particular importance to you or someone else? Record something somewhere cool? Use a sample that is special in a particular way? Collaborate with someone of significance? Give us the music and tell us the tale.

Unlike every other challenge which I always reckon I could try and then don't follow through on, I absolutely know I can/will do this because I've posted a few, er, charmingly-bad, decade(s)-old recordings already. Will have a rummage and a ruminate. Looking forward to a bit of backstory!

One of these days I will post a challenge submission again. I'm juggling four different music projects (including some wonderful collabs) and amidst hectic life stuff, I've found that working on them (even if it's little by little) definitely improves my happiness factor. I hope everyone else is doing well with their music projects!

My recent song collab with billiebee was too late for this challenge (totally on me! -- it took me a while to finish it) but I hope I can make the next one. Maybe we can revisit having more time for challenges if that works better for people? Every two months, for instance? Or I vaguely remember something about quarterly challenges in the past.

Heh, well this one ran for two months in the end because I have been as disorganised as usual. You should totally post what you were working on! Channel the vibrant no-shits-giving spirit of Douglas Adams, and ignore my deadlines as they whoosh past!

Anyway spacing them out more suits me. Which reminds me it's probably time for the next one...
