Some stuff that happened. A mild case of OCD.
A neighbourhood mom played the violin.

rafter: I guess when I make one...
I always say that I'm working on getting a site back up (I just took down an old one) and a CD together, but it doesn't ever seem to happen.
Email me and we can work something out.
Thanks again.

May happen. There's a network of folks like that in this neighbourhood. It's just getting past the whole "we've GOT to get together and do some music," "ya, for sure" stalemate that's the tricky part.

I was all prepared to hate this because everyone else loved it so much. And then I heard it. This is like all the best parts of cutesy little acoustic emo without the obnoxious pretentiousness. It's a lot like the sensitive stuff Fountains of Wayne does. Thumbs up.

Thanks again for all the niceness.
We're all getting sick of the song now, for sure, but thanks for the fond words.
I find it interesting, all the different things that people project onto it:
in this thread alone it's been called simple/complex, Nickel Creek, cutesy little acoustic emo without the obnoxious pretentiousness, Fountains of Wayne and sweet folk.
I kind of didn't think it was any of those things but I guess it must be all of them.

I think people just compare it to what they know. I don't listen to emo or sweet folk -- actually, I don't think I could even define either of those very clearly. I don't listen to Fountains of Wayne. I do, however, listen to Nickel Creek. Just a perspective thing. :)

Beautiful chocolat. Love the way it builds very slowly, instrument by instrument, layer by layer, inviting the listener into your narrative. Spacious harmonies. Beginning, middle and satisfying end, it works so nicely.
