[unfinished and untitled]

This song has been sitting around for most of the past year or so, unfinished and untitled, waiting for possibly a little more instrumentation (it's definitely a missing electric uke solo), some lyrics, and a re-recording of the drums with a real kit. I'm not good at playing fake drums. [more inside]

Cook, Peary, and Byrd

Here is my entry into the "Educational Song" challenge from March of last year. (THIS IS AS FAST AS I WORK, PEOPLE.) It is a searing exposé / sing-along waltz that reveals the truth about early arctic exploration. My dad plays trumpet, my friend Jessica plays trombone and sings, my wife Sue sings just a little bit, and MeFi's own dubold and Pecinpah sing as well. Lyrics and (yes!) citations are inside. The Great Space Darkness vs Love

A short but epic song that dares to ask: Is our only hope in this war against the great space darkness the love of an ageless, gender neutral couple? Will their love be enough? [more inside]

Turn Away

Poppy-ska song I wrote a couple years ago about being afraid to ask a girl out. (I did, eventually, but not in the song). [more inside]

The Ballad of Cherry Hill

This is the lead-off track from the forthcoming EP, Labyrinths, by Steve Goldberg and the Arch Enemies, to be released 1/7/10. It's a wistful slice of indie-pop about insomnia, suburban isolation, and the boredom of hometowns. [more inside]

I Want You Back

Everybody driving by my window the last three weeks has been blasting Michael Jackson, I couldn't help myself. Maybe got a bit carried away. Many apologies to James Jamerson. [more inside]

Skallelujah

Although the song says the distinction is irrelevant, this is definitely the BROKEN hallelujah. [more inside]
