A cover of one of my favorite songs about tornadoes, originally by Butterglory.

Yes, I have heard that one, but I'd forgotten about it, buriednexttoyou. Thanks for reminding me.
I should say that this was recorded in about 2 hours (including learniing it and making quite a few trips to the fridge for beer), all first takes, if that matters. Also, this song presented a Brian Wilson "Mrs. O'Leary's Cow" moment for me when I was driving in Kansas last week*. I was telling my wife/travelling partner/bandmate that we needed to cover this song because it was a great one that dealt with feelings about how we relate to Kansas (we both spent formative years there) and played it for her while going through the vast nothingness of western Kansas. The next day we found out that Greensburg, a place not far from where we were visiting, had been levelled. It was all a bit disturbing, so I thought I should at least record it.
*Actual comparisons to Brian Wilson not implied.

Really cool song, it's great to hear another one by you and I agree with buriednexttoyou, the fiddle part is quite something. Did you play the fiddle as well?
As for: this was recorded in about 2 hours...all first takes, if that matters.
Of course that stuff matters. It puts you there with the other monsters of MetaFilter Music that record fantastic songs in one take with their one free hand while they change diapers/cook/feed the cat/save the world with the other. Geez. You guys are going to make me quit music.

This is a great song. I love the whole package but your voice really puts the bow on it for me.

Thanks for the complimnets micayetoca and snsranch. That is me playing the fiddle parts. The beauty of digital recording being that you can just cut out the wrong notes makes it easier for me to play the thing.
