Also known as "puddlewonderful." This is my contribution to the challenge and so, there's [more inside]

Sweet micayetoca! Going for jess' "puddle wonderful" thing is much more challenging than keeping to what cortex posts on top of the Music page. But you nailed it!
Rain stick? That's good stuff man.
(Very cute little poke @ jessamyn too!)

Hey! seagulls + rainsticks, cheap shot, I know, but still, it holds up to the water theme. Now you are making me fear I have no chance to win the house in Hawaii that I seem to remember Cortex offered for the best water themed song. Vote for me, snsranch or the next one will be named after you!

I love that you used seagulls. I feel almost lame for my own lazy found-fx choices now.

This is lovely, man. The double-guitar pan thing almost gives it a 120-string sound. This contest/challenge rocks.

Um... 12-string. Although I bet if someone had a 120-string guitar, it would be micayetoca.

120 strings?
You know my address, man.
Can you send those crazy Venezuelan tuning and chord charts, though?
Just kidding. This was lovely.
The seagulls were awesome, and faded out just before they became kind of Hitchcock-scary.
Nice job.

I think you should let jessamyn pick the themes for exactly this reason, this is a nice song.

I take some time off music and everyone posts something. Glad I checked it out this morning. This is beautiful. I kinda liked the theme...

Seagulls... filthy birds! But, man, do they make for beautiful ambiance. Kicking ass as usual, micayetoca.

reminds me of heat shimmering off the vast empty asphalt parking lot behind the mall by the dumpsters. (not a slam on the song - that's where the gulls are mostly found these days!)

Following ludwig_van's wise advice, there's two guitar tracks playing almost the same thing, panned left and right. There's also two seagull tracks and, just when I thought I was going to have to resort to actual water for the water sound effects, my neighbor came back from Curação and brought me one of those rainsticks, so there's two tracks of that as well.
Finally, in case Jessamyn comes around here and starts swinging the banhammer menacingly, the title was nothing personal. It's just that it was a hard theme.
