The Turret Gunner's Farewell

A song I wrote a couple of years ago as a tribute to my great uncle Bernard, who went down in a Halifax III during WWII. Oh hell. Just listen to the song to get the story.

I went to a well-respected studio here in town that specializes in recording Celtic musics, plunked down my money on the barrel head and sang my guts out for an hour and a half to make a demo CD. Just me and the mike, and the sound guy twiddling knobs and clicking his mouse in the room adjacent. It was dollars well spent, and compared to other studios in the area, the price was reasonable, too!

What a treat!
Exceptional voice, potent song, beautifully sung. May your great uncle rest in peace. I'd love to hear a whole CD of songs with this marvelous combination of superb Gaelic chant style singing and lyrics about modern living, from war to industrial strength caffeine (as your hilarious profile photo cartoon depicts). Brava LN!
