A song to convince a dog

A friend of mine met his girlfriend at the dog park. This verses of the song tell the story, alternating between the dog's point of view, and the owner's, ending with the owner pleading with his neurotic and fiercely territorial dog to allow his new girlfriend to move in with them. I wrote this as a wedding present for them.

Brilliant, I was going to draw the Elliott Smith comparison before I even saw the tag. The chords, the vocals... very, very nice.

Thanks, ageispolis. I wanted the song to fit my friends. He has acerbic wit and a dark view of the world, and she's goofy and unpredictable, so I started with an elliot smith-y base and then went in some random directions with the production.

That part that comes in at 0:26 is brilliant and unexpected. Definitely a great wedding gift.
