Tryptophantastic (2007 edit)

A happy happy holiday fuzzy buzzy song. Play at loudish volume.
This is another song from Luckyweevil/The Bedpan Minstrels, my friend Matt and I with his Tascam. This one was a part of a holiday album we put together in 2001 (along with our buddy Brent) to give to our friends that included such classics as "Snowballin'," "The Farts That Make You Want to Die," (second personal fave) "Mary Mary," and "Herschel," the song about an elf who had an extramarital affair with Mrs. Claus. At this point, we were turning up the trim on the Tascam and distorting everything as well as running lots of stuff through a delay pedal. Yay fuzzy delay!
This was the most family-friendly holiday song of the bunch, so I hope you like it. Happy holidays, everyone, with warm fuzzies all around.

Grandma wonders about the beer weenies
And Aunt Joyce checks her hair,
While Uncle Shelby checks his coat at the door
And Aunt Dorothy places it on the bed.
"Oh, will so and so be here with her new baby?"
The family friend does not care.
He's sitting watching the basketball game
Wondering when the food will be served,
But everyone gives him a verbal hug
As the festivities begin. Oh yeah, oh yeah!
It's tryptophan for the holidays! (Tryptophan!)
When, when it's over,
It's time to unbutton your pants and lay on the couch.
Cousin Roy eases into the E-Z Boy,
And dad goes hunting with Uncle Ray.
Sister moves into the kitchen to gossip with the women
As they sit down to play "Bitch".
Matt, Matt will play with his Mossman
While Herschel draws the buttons on earth's spaceship.

This is great. I really like it. I love the warm fuzz, and the delay feedback is satisfyingly deployed. It feels like more than tryptophan to me. Maybe tryptophan+three beers (I'm a bit of a lightweight).
If only this and other songs like it were piped through shopping malls during this time of year...
