Thanks! All of the "BRK" series is made in Ableton Live, though I could use a number of other looping programs as I'm not really pushing Live very far.
I generally take advantage of the multitracking available in Live to compose two or more sets of drum/percussion loops (usually 4/4 or 4/8) which I then "play live" to record the tracks themselves. I prefer to improvise with the loops "live" and even do a little live pattern editing while it's going on.
