In The Bar Tonight

This was a happiely done shes gone song. When I first wrote it I thought to myself " If she hears this then shell know and we will be ok again" Needless to say she is still gone and all I got was this dam T-shirt. This was my first and only studio demo session in where I did my first three recorded songs. Sorry for the song restart at the end just me being lazy on a edit. Listen Ps: as the story goes she has heard this one I know for sure

Some nice little bass licks in there, they really help to keep it interesting. I also like how relentless the drums are, although their tone is a bit flat for my taste.

Thx The bass player is a up and coming musicman with The Macpodz out of Ann Arbor mi and the drummer was just a guy the studio called in.I cant remember his name but was a nice guy you could tell. He asked what I wanted I told him just a pleasant kinda Ringo beat. He did about five takes. I did vocals one take only I was so nervous I was almost shaking. This was my very first recorded song. Thx for the Listen

If this is your first recording, I can't wait to hear what it'll sound like after another dozen or two! This sounds pretty solid to me. If I had to nitpick, I'd like to hear the song open up a bit at some point -- maybe a real intense guitar solo, some crash cymbals, more of those bass licks that arcanecrowbar mentioned. It feels to me like you guys built up a lot of energy but kept most of it bottled up, and I want you to cut loose! Maybe I'm projecting, though.

Wish the vocals were just a shade more prominent; they get a little lost, but that could be my crap-ola earbuds. Pretty cool, though.

Extra points for the way you introduced the song.

And yeah, this is a great demo. What do you plan to do to the song?

This put a smile on my face, it's a nice upbeat fun song, right away I could tell it was going to be good. I gotta agree w/ danb on the guitar solo, bust out that electric and let it rip.

I would like to get into a songwriters group and maybe work that way. I was in a accident so I had to hold off and recover. Just now looking to put some more peices out there. Where do ya start? Anyway Thx for the listens.

You're already in a songwriting group homey, more songwriters in MeFi than you can shake a spork at. If you're looking for something in real life than I would try Craigslist or places where people drink straight whisky and listen to soulful blues, always a few cool cats in places like that.
