This is one of my favorite songs off our new album. It's kind of a country rock power ballad about a mom and her little girl trying to find a new life for themselves.

Nice voice -- I grew up in Mississippi, in a landscape colored by catfish and country. This song makes me a bit homesick.

I'd say country rock power ballad perfectly describes this. Very nice arrangement. I especially like the bass.

High-quality stuff! Nice arrangement and very pro-sounding recording.

Thanks all!

@February28 - I love your turn of phrase "landscape colored by catfish and country." Mind if I steal that sometime?

@Astro Zombie - Thanks for the comment on the bass - I'm also the bass player, so that gave me extra warm and fuzzies!

@danb - I noticed most of the stuff on the site are more work-in-progress, home studio type songs, but I don't have any works-in-progress at the moment (or a home studio, though I would love to build one!), so I was hoping it was ok to post some stuff off the album instead. I'm glad the recording quality shows through, it took us almost two years to get the damn thing finished!

A touching song. Reminds of the band Concrete Blonde.

I don't hear "ballad" here but damn girl you can sing.

I say this in a complimentary way: this should have been the theme song to a network sitcom or drama back in the early/mid nineties. It's powerful and catchy.
