I Do It For Your Love

A Paul Simon cover from the same session as Bob-omb Battlefield. Instrumental, two acoustic guitars.
This one uses the "large studio" preset (as opposed to Bob-omb Battlefield's "small studio"). There are a couple of spots with balance issues, but I'm pretty happy with how this turned out overall.

You and your friend should drag your guitars to Harvard Square and collect beer money--this and the Bob-omb Battlefield would totally draw people in. More!

Nice. Your playing is confident and relaxed, and I like the tone of the guitar playing the more chordal parts.

Yes, very nice again.
Are those infrequent nasal breaths I hear or clothing movement? I like them regardless.
I love hearing a room in a recording, it's my favourite thing. Screw dry recording closets and noise gates and limiters and over-compression, I say.
Is this with one mic?
Also, you captured that totally Simon-esque little riff he always does at around 3.37. I Am a Rock!

Wow, thanks for all the nice comments!
not_on_display: We're planning to play out a bit in the fall. Not sure if we'll spring for a street musician license, but you never know!
umbĂș: Hey, that'd be me. :-) As with Bob-omb Battlefield (and all of the pieces from this session), I'm using my fingers and my friend Matt's using a pick.
ibfrog: Thanks! There are still a couple more -- I'll put up another one now.
chococat: Yup, one mic. Most of the incidental sounds you hear are breathing -- we both have a habit of inhaling before starting a phrase. I'm glad you enjoy them though! And I'm glad you picked up on my Simon-esque riff :-)

This is really exquisite. This is the sort of stuff I like to play when I'm reading, not because I think it belongs in the background, as ambient noise, but because it puts me in a good state for paying attention.
