You Ain't Goin' Nowhere (Dylan cover)

Yeah, I know, covers are discouraged. I just wanted to give this one a try...

Also, its super-simple. Just me a guitar and a plastic bag. Needs harmonica...

I can dig it, never heard the original but has that Dylan feel to it. I didn't know there was a cover rule, I've seen a more than a few on here already, I'm sure as long as you don't make a habit of doing strictly covers than it'd be alright (but don't quote me on that) and it's a plus when you do it well like you've done here.

You have a really really good voice. I like this cover. How often do you get a Ryan Adams comparison in the high register?

No one's ever said that before, but mefites are basically my only audience.

I had to look up who Ryan Adams is and I listened to a track over at playlist.com. Now I can officially take that comment as a compliment!

Haven't heard the original either, but this sounds really nice.

Funny, the other day when you made that VP FPP I thought punkbitch was a girl, but now seeing you here I remembered I've heard other songs by you.

It's always nice to hear a Dylan cover that doesn't sound like either a bad impression* of the man or a desparate bid to sound nothing like him. This sounds totally comfortable as just you.

*speaking as someone who enjoys doing bad impressions of him, even.

Dang, I dig that plastic bag - never heard that used in a song before. Great cover.

I always liked this song, and I've never heard anyone cover it before. The jumps between your lower and upper register do a nice job of delineating the songs verses and chorus, and the whole of it has a nice, laconic quality to it; really enjoyable.

This sounds really great. The plastic bag is intriguing; sounds kind of like a super soft strum. The 'ooo-eee's sound terrific.

My mother used to play this record a lot and you've added a sweetness to it that I appreciate. I also love your singing but respectfully disagree that you sound like Ryan Adams. Your voice is much purer.

I hope you don't add a harmonica. It's perfect the way it is.
