Some acoustic Pink Floyd. This is my first ever recording, feedback is appreciated.
I have decided to put this here because a) I've had enough to drink that I'm feeling pretty fearless, and b) my guitar teacher suggested I record myself. Not knowing many other people that play instruments, I figured some of the MeFi community could let me know how I'm doing.
I picked up the guitar last August in preparation for a long, cold winter; I needed something to do in the dark afternoons. Seventy dollars later, I had an acoustic guitar and a couple of chords. So, I guess this is the result of about a year's worth of lessons and practice.
I apologize if the sound quality is crap, I recorded this in my living room with a stick mic that I use for Skype.

Hey, your guitar playing is great. And nevermind the mics, just record it however you can. Good job and keep up the good work.

Ya, I agree. This is fantastic for starting last August.
The tip I'd have for you, although it's not really a tip because it's going to happen naturally eventually anyway, is to practice a song enough that you're not worried about making the next chord-change and you can relax a little and feel the song a bit more, instead of it being sort of pick-pick-pick-pick, strum-strum-strum-strum.
You're timing is right on, which is really impressive and hard to do at so early in your playing history. After a while you'll get to nuance things a bit and play with dynamics while you hear that time in your head.
Great job for sure.

It's quite good.
There are a couple of small things I'd change if it were my recording, but I'd change the original, too, so that's not a bad thing!

Thanks for the encouragement. I definitely recognize that I need to "feel" things a little more , but yeah I guess that will come with time.
Thanks!
