In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

I know, I know, another Neutral Milk Hotel cover from this guy. But bear with me on this one - this was my first ever attempt at recording something. Beware of ridiculous effects, general fuzz, super cool whistilng and wild panning, especially if you are on headphones.

With several months of guitar playing under my belt, I recorded this on my dad's laptop in July 2007 on GarageBand. I had no idea that this song was in 3/4 (or what that meant). I didn't know much, besides how to whistle.

Today I picked up my dad's computer again, and decided to look through my old GarageBand files, and I found this after completely forgetting about it. So, like a quickly removed band-aid, I uploaded it to MefiMusic.

I still think the ending is triumphant....

This is completely and utterly ridiculous and crazy. And I love it.

Yeah, this is great. You definitely made it your own song.

Double!

Just kidding, that rule doesn't apply to Music, but I still wanted to show you the other version just because it's always interesting to hear what other people have done with a song.

I love your version. As the button says, I marked it as a favorite. I love the insanity, the shower, the different sections, everything. Lovely version.

Man, for a first shot at recording, you really at the whole enchilada! And it works perfectly too!

Heh, thank you all for listening. It was definitely fun for me to make, and to rediscover.

Believe me, I thought I was the shit, and that this whole music thing was terribly overrated. But It only lasted a couple days, don't worry.

And wow, micayetoca, ludwig_van's version is like the polar opposite of mine - really cool. Thanks for the link!

This has a gee-whiz, this-recording-thing-sure-is-fun feel to it. I like how ramshackle and constantly shifting it is.

Corduroy, you crazy cat, this is just great. I love that this is the first song you ever recorded but you were still strong enough to make it your own. That's severely awesome.
