Don't Cry, Please

melissa may sings over a friend's track (but we wrote the lyrics together and I recorded her singing!).

The band is Erectric Thrash Orchestra (myspace; label). The STEALTH shares a member with ETO, and did a great remix of Resh Day Lo, one of Melissa's and my previously posted songs. You can hear it on his myspace page.

Finally someone joins me at the jpop tag.

It's funny to hear her voice on top of a song that is so different from the stuff the Harveys do, it must be delighting and strange for her to hear herself in such a different setting. She mastered perfectly, though. Her voice doesn't sound out of place or uncomfortable. I wouldn't have imagined her singing stuff like this, but it sounds really good. Did you choose the effects on the voice as well, or did the ETO choose them?

They did that. I just sent them a raw file. It makes it sit really well in the mix, though, so it was a wise choice.

Thanks, cortex.

Man, you own those vocals. Very authoritative. It sounds great.

Holy moly, that's different. I agree with umbĂș - you OWN the vocals.

Great.
