Like a Rock

November 19, 2008 8:36 PM

My mom wrote this poem in 1968 and I am compiling it for her as a song for her Christmas present this year.

I dont have much money this year since becoming single income, so instead of a present, I am sending my mom a CD of this for Christmas.

I am trying to get better at singing, I am not very good at it but thought that I would post anyway..we all have to start somewhere right?

My friend Casey is working on the instrumentals and I am looking forward to hearing it all jazzed up. I am not sure why there is an echo but I like it anyways...

I thought it was very haunting and beautiful. I was focusing more on your voice than the lyrics most of the time, so you must have been doing something right.

Don't get better at singing because you're already fairly freaking brilliant.

Thanks so much for posting this. I really love it.

Thanks guys...I had to laugh at the "Fairly Freaking Brilliant" ...hehe...I really hope that she likes the finished product as well.

Indeed. Perfectly well said.

Also, this track should be made into one of the monthly challenges. Have all the MefiMusicians who do electronic music remix it, mash-it-up, all that. (that was you could give a different CD to your mom at every special occasion)

Very, very nice. Jenny is quite crafty.

Yea, great job Jenny! Your voice is really sweet and it sounds like you really know how to put it to work.

Also, I agree with micayetoca!
