Atriplex - Don't Cross the Beams

December 18, 2008 4:30 AM

A few minutes of crazy space noise and strange particle interactions.

Decided to see how much weird noise I could create in Buzz in 20 minutes, and I like the result, although it isn't very polished. Buzz is great because so many of the machines just do weird things, and have completely unexplained parameters to play with. It's like circuit bending on your computer. The two root generators for this track are a very simple FM synth, and a physically-modeled flute synth, broken down and mixed up in many weird ways.

Neat, Jimbob. I just checked out Buzz's homepage; I didn't realize how powerful it is. It's like a free version of Max/MSP.

I had not seen you on here before. I'm going through your old posts to MeFi Music now!
