Dub/Reggae/Ska Sadness.

I am new to MeFi and I love this place. I love listening to everyone's music. I wanted to post one of my new songs, but I can't wait - so I am posting an old one (2 years ago). This was written/recorded using PodXT Live for guitar input, Guitar Pro 4 for midi piano/organ, Fruity Loops for drums, and Sonar 4 to put everything together.

In case you care to know a bit about me as a musician - I am horrible at writing songs. I think I am decent at writing progressions, single ideas, melodies, etc... but when it comes to putting together parts, or making multiple parts that go together... forget it. So, unfortunately, my music will most likely be two parts or maybe even just one part... with no real end.. probably just a repeat and fade out, or maybe just all instruments coming to an abrupt stop and some cursing in the background.

The production quality of this is excellent. I dare say it sounds professional.

I know what you mean about composing. I find it to be a chore. I like designing sounds in soft synths more than putting it all together.

This sounds good and I think MeMu definitely needs more dub and ska. Do you always do dub oriented stuff?

No - I don't do dub all the time, but I do focus most of my writing on grooves. I will post more on here, thanks for the kind words. I don't really know what "burnin'" meant, but I will take it as a compliment unless I am told otherwise. :-)
