kerosene alley by vampire deer

this is the 3rd and title song for my new rpm album - it would seem to be about someone else but sometimes i think it might be about me

i was born in kerosene alley
next door to a savings and loan
and i could never understand
why the robbers made me play alone
my mother was a shoplifter
she stole my new blue jeans
and my father was a dam builder
way down in new orleans

i'm a fool in kerosene alley
and i want a dollar from you
if you stay in kerosene alley
there's no telling what i'll do

well, i count the ants on the sidewalk
they look just like people to me
always going about their business
until the foot of god sets them free
most people think i'm crazy
but really i don't care
i'm not the one who's stalking the world
with a pissed off stare

i'm a fool in kerosene alley
and i want a dollar from you
if you stay in kerosene alley
there's no telling what i'll do

yeah, let's stay in kerosene alley
and you can learn to be a fool too
i'm a fool in kerosene alley
and i want a lifetime from you

I like the sort of retro thing going on here. Nice handclaps!
