Failing Inspiration

For the second in as many attempts at the RPM Challenge, I have created a work that in its sustained and complete for is extremely challenging to listen to.

As with the first time my initial feeling is that this is because it sucks, but on further listening once again I'm left with the impression that there is something more interesting going on. Failing Inspiration goes back to a brief period of mine when I was digging writing songs with one line. The only song where I really dug the Korg DS-10 solo. I'll probably inflict one more of the less brutal tracks from the challenge on here. But I'll spare you the 18+ minutes of formless emulated synthesizer freestyle I'm currently listening to myself for the third time (it's growing on me!)

Failing inspiration there is nothing but persistence (fate may show you mercy if you lower your resistance).

Heh, I like the way that the one line becomes a mantra for the song -- "here is some more persistance for you." Woah! and then I get TOTALLY blindsided by the solo -- the mantra had lulled me completely for the purpose of tipping me over, like a Warhol film.
