Turbo Nugget
March 5, 2009 9:39 AM
I have a problem: I can't stop writing songs for my beloved puggle. Turbo Nugget is what we call it when he can't take the excitement and sprints a few dozen laps around the house, followed by a nap. I felt this was best expressed in chiptune form.
I debuted this in my chiptune set at Magfest in January, and handed out dollar-store noisemakers, whistles, and tambourines. It was a blast.

Man, this and Staring at My Spaceship are easily my favorite two chiptunes around. Kudos again.

I can picture the game - a Sega Megadrive platformer set in various indoor environments. House, hotel, office block, hospital. That would be a sweet game, and this would be a sweet soundtrack for it.

Ha! This is the same dog that "Nuts on the Go" is about, right? Ah, to have such a muse.
This is a blast. I'm going to have to figure out what this "chiptune" thing is all about.

I'm stuck in my cubicle, and my iPod battery just died. I came here, found this, and now it's getting me through the rest of the day until the weekend starts. Many thanks.

Yay! You're welcome, and thank you! Have a very happy weekend.
Karlos: I'd be excited to see what you could do with chiptunes. E-mail me (through my site, biglionmusic.com) if you ever need any help or have any questions about where to get started. That goes for anyone else, too -- Sharing the happiness that is chiptune music is a privilege I deeply enjoy.

Wow. This prompted me to listen to the other chiptune stuff you've put up on MeFi Music. I can't help but to picture it as a soundtrack to an adventure in my head. MOAR!

I agree with Robcorr. This is the first time I've ever listened to a song and seen the game so vividly in my head. Special move, hit a shoulder button to engage the pug's e-brake, and skid around corners to collect loot (dust bunnies)! I mean, if this was dog racing game/platformer.
