Forest (Coniferous Mix)

March 5, 2009 9:30 PM

A remix of a song I made that was leagues better than the original. Only 1 element of the original remains.

The original "Forest" was one of my first ever tracks and was pretty embarrassing. Luckily it died and no known copies still exist. This one has one strike against it, too: I didn't find the drums myself, I kinda ganked them from Cut Chemist's "Layered Laird" but I never found anything else that worked quite as well as those did. The rest is from Earl Klugh and Bob James' (who else?) "Love Lips", which has also apparently been sampled by Mr. Lif and Onyx--I checked it out, their respective producers used different parts than I did, so it's still OK I think. The horn at the end is the only part from the original "Forest" that still remains. It was pitch-shifted since the original and I no longer have any record of where it came from. D'oh!

This was intended for use at one point on the "Big in Japan" album I keep going on about.

Smooth! I like that horn sample. (Also, "Coniferous Mix" amuses me.)
