Revolutionary

A song i wrote a few months ago and just recently recorded. Again, recorded straight into my Macbook Pro. One take for Guitar and lead Vocals, one take for backup vocals.

I swear everyone, i will actually buy a legit microphone soon. I actually have a Beringher Eurorack Mixer like a foot away from me right now, but my condenser mic somehow got left in storage in Tokyo, where i used to live. FML.

Sometimes I try so hard to be a poet,
That all the language leaves my brain.
Sometimes I try so hard to be a revolutionary,
That everything just stays the same.

Sometimes we try so hard to bring peace,
That we end up dropping bombs.
Sometimes we try so hard to do the thing we know is right,
that we do the thing we know is wrong.

But at least we tried, right?
Isn’t that good enough?
At least we tried, right?
Isn’t that good enough?

Sometimes the things I think are good ideas,
Turn out to be the ones that suck.
Remember when you told me I was being superficial,
I said I didn’t give a fuck.

One of these days when I start getting old,
I’ll look back over my life.
Will I see anything worth sixty-three years in the cold?
Will I even love my wife?

But at least I tried, right?
Isn’t that good enough?
At least I tried, right?
Isn’t that good enough?
