Femme Fatale

July 3, 2009 11:01 AM

Skeedly Scoodly doo-bee a-scoo-boop WHOA ba-deedly doot-'n doo-wow.

We hit two birds with one stone with this one: first entry in the VU challenge, and more bari sax enrichment for snsranch's diet!

This was improvised on the spot with only a vague idea of what I wanted to do with the song. I've only heard the original once, and I aim to keep it that way until after the end of the month, at least.

Instrumentation:

Timbill (me) - Vocal hi-hat, Triangle, Snaps, Lead Vocals, Background Vocals
Tréteque (man vs sun) - Snaps, Baritone Sax
Pheatherwäit - Melodica

I forgot to mention, Tréteque also provided Ozark harp on the loop, as well.

I love that melodica. And I usually hate saxophone, but here I like it. Great, great version.

Another thing, you should consider adding the "VelvetUnderground" and the "VU" tags so that it shows with the other songs from the challenge.

I think, by now, that I would have known this was your version even if it was a "blind tasting" (as it were). As ever: totally unique, wryly amusing and most entertaining. Great stuff LOOM.

Thanks! It was fun to do. I honestly don't remember the original melody at all.

I'm okay with that.

Wow, you guys banged this right outta the park! As micayetoca said, this really IS a great version. And thanks for supplementing my diet, the wife says I look better already!
