Middle Management

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Crap You Don't Really Need.

LYRICS:
I've finally made it,
Hit the big time now.
I've got my own office.
Don't mind taking a bow.

Come on in, lose the shoes,
put up your feet, have a drink.
Do you like my new desk?
It's mahogany, I think.

Middle Management
Through hard work and finesse.
Middle Management
Just a part of my grand scheme.
Middle Management
The pursuit of wealth and success.
Middle Management
It's the American dream!

I'm the boss of five men,
yeah, they do what I say.
We play golf and I win,
almost every day.

After work, to unwind,
some drinks at the saloon.
No, my wife, she won't mind.
To her nags I'm immune.

My wife
My kids
My house
My boat
My car
My TV
My yard
My dogs
My pool
My golf clubs
I owe it all to middle management.

My assistant, Elaine,
she's the best in the biz.
No detail too arcane,
she recalls like a whiz.

Knows about my affairs
but she won't tell my wife.
To her no one compares,
daily she saves my life.

This is great, Trey! I wasn't sold on the fake instruments initially, but it grew on me until the solo in the middle, at which point I was sold. Done. Fantastic. Also, you stole my line, for great justice.

This song is awesome! The electronic instruments are a perfect choice. And the vocal performance is great. I especially liked it when you said, "Success!"

Thanks, folks!

"Success" makes me grin too. So far, this is the most pleased I've been with any of my vocal recordings (especially for something I slapped together yesterday). I think the key is to approach even the silliest of lyrical content with utmost seriousness-ocity.
