Venus In Furs

Satan? Is that you?

Track four in our complete re-realization of Velvet Underground & Nico.

The lyrics to this song evoked memories of the incantation in Macbeth Act IV Scene 1. Combine that vibe with an Oingo Boingo overload and this is what you'll end up with. Atmosphere provided by a single note on the QSR.

Instrumentation:

Timbill – Vocals, Effects
Tréteque - Synth

May I bashfully direct a miniscule critiquette your way? I love what you guys are doing - and I include LOOM in this 'cos I think he's part of your set-up - but I think you're running a slight risk of diminishing returns on the original concept. The spoken-voice/minimalism is fine providing the "music" bit isn't perhaps always so out-there ambient and impressionistic? Maybe you might consider broadening the tonal palette a bit more, maybe retain the formula but mix some things entirely differently - an whole album of outre ambience and stuff that doesn't develop significantly in sonic terms might be just a tad too much? This is meant genuinely as totally constructive criticism - so I hope no offence is taken...

Oh, don't worry, my friend. We're just getting started. This whole album remake is very schizophrenic in nature. You'll get something completely different in about...oh, six hours, with the next track.

Yeah, um... he's not kidding. the way the tracklist shook out put most of the ambient/spoken word treatments ended up in front, but believe me: it gets weird from here on out.
