Forbidden to Face The Natural Light (Part 2 of 3)

December 9, 2009 4:42 PM

Movement 2 of a 3 movement work for brass, percussion, and radio.

This is my favorite of the three movements I wrote, but its also the most disturbing. This movement focuses on a particularly painful description about treatment of Guantanamo detainees - read by Jack Hitt, Alberto Gonzales, former President Bush, and more. Premiered at New England Conservatory in 2008 under the baton of Brian Kaufman.

Nice ambience and mixing. Feels like a preamble rather than a complete piece, but I guess that's why it's "part 2 of 3".
