but the old record store wasn't there anymore

there was a comic book outlet, game stuff, too
used household stuff and a few old books
two blocks down, and no one sells anything new

well, i walked down to the local bar
there was no one i knew in that bar
well, two beers down and i went back to my car

i passed the empty store, and the empty school
then the empty lots where the factory stood
two decades down and my old town's gone for good
