as if by chance

silence always surrounded us
like a smothering fog

each other's words was like
falling off a log

I'm kinda bummed that the video effect, reminiscent of, say, a xerox of a xerox, didn't look as good on YT and Vimeo as it does on the original file I uploaded to those sites. It got pixel-y when run through whatever compression they do.

This sounds great. I really like what you do with your falsetto. By starting up in that register, it seems like it pulled you out of the melodic habits that you sometimes fall into when you start lower and save the high note for later.
