Sarah Miller Time

February 18, 2010 11:21 AM

This is a song about a girl named Sarah Miller and how I associate her with summer time!

I wrote this song last summer. I teach at an art school and during the summer we have these camps and it's just really so great - it really makes it *feel* like summer, if you know what I mean. Water balloon fights and the like. Anyway Sarah works there and she's super cool, and also I started working there a few years ago, but in the summer. So I sort of associate her with summer.

Also there's the "miller time" connection, but that was sort of subconscious. Beer was in no way related to the production or inspiration of this song.

Oh wow, what a nice box of surprises. Starting with the guitar intro that goes away and then the rest of the things that come in one at a time, everything comes as a nice surprise. What a nice song. I'd like to mention more things I like specifically about the song, but I'd rather not mention them in the first comment so that they'll come as a surprise to the other listeners as well. But what a cool vibe and what a cool set of little details in one song.

Ha, mica said it all pretty much, and he avoided spoilers!
That's a really nice song. The way you recorded it really captures a mood. Well done.
For me the female singer sort of laughing/singing really made it. Oops, spoiler.

Thanks guys. The ending was very Ennio Morricone inspired, if anyone's familiar with him.
