song 7 of 11 of cornfield

she was wined and dined by married men since she was a fourteen friend
her mother from the country club wanted her to quit that rough
the pimp next door was trying hard to get her as a stable card
at mr don's i waited there for bags of weed and paper square
and didn't dare to dream of love or st germain far up above
it was all too much
b c ave when boomer ran with blanket shotgun in his hand
tripping in his bronco to shoot out somebody's window
but there were too many kids around, so we got back out of town
oh, tell me in the name of love, what the fucking hell were we thinking of
it wasn't our problem or solution but we still went out crusin
it was all too much
fountain couldn't be freedom, no, we were just young and stupid
and less than kind
fountain couldn't mean nothing, no, we were too stoned to make it
and losing our minds

burnham was a place from hell, the upstairs neighbors weren't too well
they stood out on the balcony and threw down little bags of c
to the kiddies in the neighborhood, counterfeited what they could
till sunglassed guys in tailored suits, drove slowly for their photo shoots
we don't mean to make you nervous, we're just the secret service
it was all too much
the neighborhood all turned to crack and we never dared go back
but on van buren in the hood, the houses are all gone for good
torn down for free parking lots that stand empty as the pavement rots
and the new kids' fantasy is a career in cosmotology
i guess that sounds just fine, it's no more fucked a world than mine
it was all too much

I really like the chorus melody, and the kachugga drums. Nice, rambling tune.
