Better The Devil

A strange, unhappy, dissonant song. From the same demo as "Little Screen" that I posted a couple of days ago. This was my first adventure in double drop D tuning.

Very nice.

Double-Drop-D...that'd be what, DADGBD? I've got to try that sometime.

Yup, that's the tuning. Lots of interesting possibilities with the high E dropped down as well.

I can't listen to it much myself. Too tough for me. It's a song about addiction. And I feel like I am gaming the system here a bit by posting such old stuff. I hope Mr. Haughey doesn't mind. It's a good tune and I hope a good addition to this extraordinary enterpirse.

Actually just listened to it again here. Not a bad vocal. Thanks, Matt!

The beer helps but no amount of beer will help crappy guitar playing like that. :-( Oh well, better luck next time. I am glad this stuff is not for sale...

Shades of Quinten McFarlane. Also reminds me of a cover that the Screaming Beer Nuts did in the early eighties, can't remember the name of it, but they added some extra vocals.

Hard Time Killing Floor Blues [my favorite blues tune] is Double-Drop-D. It is a very evocative tuning. This song uses it well.

This is a great song to sing as a vocalist and realy easy on guitar. Thanks for the love!
